Muddy Sneakers is always interested in hearing from prospective instructors and welcomes your inquiries. New instructors are hired on an as-needed basis in January and August of each year (all positions are filled for 2013-14 school season). When employment opportunities become available, positions will be posted on this page and announcements can also be found on our News page.
Muddy Sneakers also encourages prospective employees to join the North Carolina Environmental Education (NC-EE) Listserv. The listserv is an excellent way to stay informed of environmental education employment opportunities across the state, including Muddy Sneakers openings when positions become available.
Environmental Outreach Member
11 Month position from September 1, 2013-July 31, 2014 serving as an Americorps Service Member with GRP and Muddy Sneakers. Green River Preserve: member will collect data for a water quality monitoring program, further develop the sustainable agriculture farm-to-table project, and educate people in the surrounding area about Green River Preserve and its mission through hikes, outreach activities, and teaching opportunities. Muddy Sneakers: member will increase awareness and support of Muddy Sneakers by assisting in the establishment of a membership base and identifying and reaching out to potential community partners, through direct outreach, social media, presentations, and events. Internship Opportunities
Muddy Sneakers takes on administrative interns in the Brevard office periodically throughout the year and has also partnered with Americorps Project Conserve. Interns are asked to commit a minimum of three months and each is given the opportunity to learn about the inner-workings of a young but rapidly growing non-profit.
