DuPont Visitor Center named for Aleen Steinberg

Congratulations to Muddy Sneakers co-founder, Aleen Steinberg!

Commissioner Steve Troxler of the N.C. Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, the N.C. Forest Service and the Friends of DuPont Forest have announced that the new Visitor Center at DuPont State Forest (still under construction) will be named the Aleen Steinberg Center.

The visitor center, the first since the state forest opened to visitors in 1999, will be dedicated at a ceremony this summer. Thanks, Aleen, for your numerous volunteer hours to the forest and dedication to WNC youth.

Aleen Steinberg will be featured as the Person of the Week on the WLOS Channel 13 news 6pm broadcast on Friday, Jan. 11. Go the the WLOS page and click on Aleen Steinberg.
