Betsy Jordan cultivated her love for nature alongside her father in the breathtaking North Georgia mountains. Those early days of hiking around her hometown of Gainesville, Georgia instilled a deep appreciation for the region’s flora and fauna. They also ignited a lifelong passion for environmental stewardship.
Her academic journey led her to Vanderbilt University. There she earned a bachelor’s degree in economics, followed by a law degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder. For 15 years, Betsy dedicated herself to the practice of law in Colorado. She honed her skills while cherishing the natural beauty of the rugged landscapes surrounding her.
Eventually, Betsy, her husband, and their three children settled in Brevard. Since then, Betsy has immersed herself in various facets of community service, channeling her passion for advocacy into meaningful contributions.
Betsy’s commitment to community welfare is evident through her active involvement in numerous boards in Brevard. She has lent her expertise to esteemed organizations such as the Transylvania Regional Hospital board of trustees, Transylvania Regional Hospital Foundation, Transylvania Endowment, Transylvania County Library, and the Library Foundation Board, among others. Her dedication to these causes has helped shape a brighter future for the community she holds dear.
Beyond her professional and philanthropic endeavors, Betsy Jordan finds solace and joy in the great outdoors. For example, she enjoys trail running and hiking through verdant landscapes. She also enjoys tending to her garden, whipping up delicious meals in the kitchen, and immersing herself in the pages of a good book.
