Prices valid for programs scheduled to take place between August 15, 2026 and June 15, 2027. Registration opens July 1, 2026.
NEW FOR 2026 –2027: CYOA Programs Offer Small-Group Learning
CYOA Field Trips and Outreach Programs will have a ratio of 1 Muddy Sneakers Educator to 15 participants.

Field Trips $25/participant
5 hours of outdoor learning at your choice of one of our Site Partner locations. Available for Grades 2 – 8. Minimum group size: 15 participants.

Outreach Programs $15/participant
2.5 hours of outdoor learning at your location. Available for Grades 2 – 8. Minimum group size: 15 participants.

5th Grade Science EOG Test Prep $10/participant
1 hour per class interactive review of 5th Grade NC Science Essential Standards at your location. Minimum group size: 15 participants.

Important Details
Participant Waivers
Participant Waiver requirements depend on the CYOA Program Type:
- Field Trips: Waivers are required.
- Outreach Programs: Waivers are not required.
- EOG Test Prep: Waivers are not required.
All CYOA Field Trip participants, teachers, staff, and chaperones must complete an electronic Participant Waiver at least two weeks before the program. Paper waivers are available upon request, but customers are responsible for accurately entering that information into the digital waiver platform.
Supervision Requirements
Customer teachers, staff, and chaperones are responsible for participant supervision and behavior at all times. One chaperone is required for every:
- 12 participants (through 8/14/26)
- 15 participants (beginning 8/15/26)
Weather & Unforeseen Events
Programs may be modified, postponed, or rescheduled due to weather, school closures, staffing limitations, public health events, or other safety concerns. Muddy Sneakers will make final decisions regarding safety and feasibility.
Rescheduling
Programs may be rescheduled due to emergency circumstances at any time.
Reschedule requests due to non-emergency situations must be submitted at least 5 days in advance. Approval depends on availability and is not guaranteed. Late requests are treated as cancellations.
Cancellations
Customer-initiated cancellations within 4 weeks of the scheduled program require a $150 fee per program. Cancellations within 5 days of the scheduled program or no-show require the full program cost.
Muddy Sneakers-initiated cancellations may be rescheduled or credited toward future programming.
No refunds are issued.
Payment & Enrollment
Payment is due in full by the scheduled program date(s). Fees are based on the number of Participants submitted at the time of booking. Additional Participants require prior approval and additional Participant fee(s). Muddy Sneakers staff reserve the right to turn away any unregistered Participants.
Withdrawal
If a customer withdraws after signing the agreement, a 10% administrative withdrawal fee applies based on the total program cost.
Program Materials
All Muddy Sneakers curriculum and program materials are proprietary and may not be copied, shared externally, or used outside the scope of the partnership.
Evaluation & Data Use
Participants may be asked to participate in a brief field survey after each Program. Customers may be asked to complete a post-visit survey after each Program. Student responses remain anonymous and may be shared with NC State University, academic partners, funders, and stakeholders.
Assumption of Risk
Outdoor programming involves inherent risks including uneven terrain, weather conditions, wildlife exposure, and physical activity. Participation acknowledges these risks and agreement to follow all safety guidance.
