What We Do

Connect Learning to Nature for Lasting Impact

Muddy Sneakers Outdoor Classroom gives students the chance to investigate ecosystems, make observations, collect data, and explore the natural world firsthand.

Learning That Lasts

Program Locations

Map of North Carolina with Muddy Sneakers service area highlight, including the following counties: Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Jackson, Polk, Transylvania, Davidson, Davie, Forsyth, Guilford, Iredell, Randolph, Rockingham, Rowan, Stokes, Surry, Chatham, Durham, Johnston, Lee, Orange, and Wake.

Field Trips are open to groups from any location that can travel to our partner sites within these counties.

Annual Partnerships, Outreach Programs, EOG Test Prep, and After-School Programs are available to groups located in these counties.

Learning takes on a new meaning when guided by the wisdom of the great outdoors. There’s so much to experience beyond desks or books or even four walls.

Using North Carolina’s natural landscapes as our backdrop, we venture beyond the confines of traditional classrooms to make learning more engaging, foster physical activity, boost self-confidence, and increase scientific aptitude among students.
