Meet Stacy De Witte, Muddy Sneakers Core Instructor
Stacy De Witte’s love for the outdoors began early, nurtured by countless camping trips that sparked a lifelong passion for nature. During her teenage years, she engaged in sea turtle research along the coasts of South and North Carolina. This experience inspired her to major in Marine Biology at the College of Charleston.
Her career has been as diverse as it is impressive. For instance, she has worked with research on Indian Ocean fishes, shrimp, sharks, and sea turtles! Her journey eventually led her to North Carolina, where she spent 29 years as a dedicated math and science teacher. She furthered her expertise with a Master’s in Education from UNC-Charlotte.
Stacy’s personal life is just as vibrant. She and her husband have four children, one granddaughter, and numerous fur and feathered companions. Outside of her professional and family life, Stacy enjoys traveling, playing chess, and tending to her flower garden.
Now, Stacy brings her extensive experience and passion for the natural world to Muddy Sneakers. As a Core Instructor, she will be instrumental in inspiring the next generation of environmental stewards. Her journey speaks to the endless possibilities that arise from a deep connection with nature and a commitment to education. We are thrilled to have Stacy De Witte on our team!
