Katia Griffin-Jakymec joined the Muddy Sneakers team in November 2025 as Development Manager, where she leads donor engagement, event planning, and data reporting. In this role, Katia helps grow support for Muddy Sneakers and advances our mission to connect more students across North Carolina with nature through hands-on outdoor science education.

With eight years of experience in environmental outreach and data analysis, Katia brings a strong background in conservation and community impact. She began her career as an AmeriCorps member with the Conservation Trust for North Carolina and the Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership, and most recently worked with the Town of Cary. Katia Griffin-Jakymec holds a bachelor’s degree in International Studies from Duke University and a graduate certificate in Geospatial Analytics from NC State University, blending big-picture thinking with data-driven strategy to support environmental education in North Carolina.
