Emma Hanna

Born and raised in beautiful Asheville, NC, Emma Hanna has always felt a deep connection to the Blue Ridge Mountains. Growing up surrounded by nature, her love for exploring the area’s trails and breathtaking spaces became a lifelong passion. This appreciation for the outdoors shaped her path, leading her to Appalachian State University where she earned her teaching degree. After that, she spent several rewarding years as an elementary school teacher. Finally, Emma joined the Muddy Sneakers team to combine her love for nature and teaching.

Emma’s teaching style reflects the spirit of the mountains she grew up in. She creates an engaging and fun learning environment, encouraging students to explore the wonders of the natural world. Whether she’s guiding them through outdoor science lessons or fostering curiosity in the classroom, her goal is to inspire a lifelong love of learning and adventure in her students.

Outside of work, Emma enjoys spending her time experimenting with new recipes, practicing yoga, and traveling to discover new places. She’s happily married and shares her life with her dog, Cheyenne, affectionately called Shy.

Emma Hanna brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to Muddy Sneakers. Her passion for the outdoors and education shines through in everything she does. As a result, she fosters a connection to nature in her students and helps them grow as curious, bold adventurers.
