Growing up in Central Virginia, Natalie Marbury spent countless hours exploring the natural spaces of Appalachia. This sparked her love for the outdoors and fueled her curiosity about the natural world. She later earned a B.S. in Wildlife Conservation from Virginia Tech.

After graduating during the unusual spring of 2020, Natalie embarked on a 200-mile backpacking trip through the Desolation Wilderness section of the Pacific Crest Trail in California’s Sierra Nevada Mountains. Over the past five years, she has traveled for seasonal work as a wildlife conservation field technician. In the off-season, she has worked as a ski and snowboard technician in Salt Lake City, Utah.
Recently, Natalie Marbury moved to North Carolina. She is enjoying being back East, surrounded by familiar forests and the rich biodiversity of salamanders. She is thrilled to join the Muddy Sneakers team and is committed to helping students connect with nature. Her goal is to give every student the same outdoor experiences that inspired her own passion and purpose.
Outside of work, Natalie enjoys rafting and canoeing with her partner, Kyle. She also creates ceramics and cares for her twin kittens, Desolation Canyon (“Deso”) and Yampa (“Yaya”).
