Erica was born in New Jersey and moved to North Carolina as a teenager. She attended Appalachian State University, where courses such as snowboarding and backpacking introduced her to the physical and mental benefits of the outdoors.
Upon graduating with a BS in Communications, Erica worked the evening shift for a local television news station. She filled her mornings as an educator for the Greensboro Science Center, where she spent nearly 20 years working in various capacities including education, operations, development, membership, and marketing.
She joined Muddy Sneakers in 2022, where she continues to live her personal passion: sharing the many benefits of experiential, outdoor science education.
Outside of work, you can find her volunteering for Girl Scouts or picking up litter through NCDOT’s Adopt-A-Highway Program. She enjoys reading, writing, and spending time outside with her family.
Erica lives in Greensboro, NC with her husband, daughters, mother-in-law, dog, and bearded dragon.
