Hattie Fletcher

We’re thrilled to welcome Hattie Fletcher to the Muddy Sneakers team as an Intern! Born and raised in California, Hattie has spent years exploring the rivers and mountains of Oregon and Washington—and now, she’s bringing her love for adventure and conservation to the Southeast.

With eight years of experience as a river guide and whitewater photographer, Hattie has developed a deep appreciation for the ways rivers shape both landscapes and people. In the winter months, she has also worked as a ski instructor, helping others build confidence in the mountains. These experiences have fueled her passion for outdoor education and conservation, leading her to pursue a degree in Fisheries, Wildlife, and Conservation Sciences at Oregon State University.

Hattie’s dedication to river ecosystems extends beyond guiding. She is the creator of Salmon Summer, a project that blends storytelling, education, and community engagement to raise awareness about salmon conservation in the Pacific Northwest. Through video content, social media outreach, and local initiatives, she hopes to inspire more people to connect with and advocate for these critical ecosystems.

Now, as a Muddy Sneakers intern, Hattie brings that same passion for experiential learning to students, helping them forge personal connections with the natural world. Whether on a river, a mountainside, or a forest trail, she believes that the best way to inspire conservation is through hands-on experiences in the outdoors.

We’re so excited to have Hattie Fletcher on board and can’t wait to see the impact she’ll make! Welcome to the Muddy Sneakers team, Hattie!
