Austin Wood Hadden

Meet Austin Wood Hadden, Muddy Sneakers Core Instructor! Austin brings a wealth of experience in experiential education and outdoor recreation, making him a fantastic addition to the team.

During his college years, Austin spent his summers working at various camps, immersing himself in the joy of the outdoors and the tight-knit community that camp life fosters. This experience fueled his passion for personal growth—both in himself and in the campers he mentored.

Austin attended Florida State University, majoring in Recreation, Tourism, and Events. During his studies, he worked as a challenge course facilitator with FSU Challenge, where he led diverse groups, from non-profits to corporate teams, through team-building activities. These experiences sparked deep, meaningful conversations and created connections among participants. Austin recalls one instance when a group of lawyers were engaged in a game involving chasing one another with noodles. The lighthearted experience transformed into a platform for significant personal and collective growth.

Since graduating, Austin has worked with seven different recreational non-profits across the U.S. His roles have ranged from leading whitewater canoeing trips for teens to teaching environmental education to K-8 students. No matter the setting, Austin thrives on creating meaningful moments through outdoor recreation.

As a Core Instructor in the Piedmont region, Austin Wood Hadden is eager to bring his energy, curiosity, and love for outdoor learning to Muddy Sneakers. We’re excited to see the impact he’ll make on the students and communities he engages with!
