KC Collins grew up just outside of Atlanta, Georgia on the banks of the Chattahoochee River and spent many days stomping through creeks, climbing trees, and playing in the dirt.

With her family she would often camp and hike in the Blue Ridge Mountains of North Georgia, exploring the forests, peaks, and lakes. Camps were a staple of every summer for KC, especially a local nature-based day camp on the Chattahoochee where she gained a love and appreciation for all things nature, especially scaly and slithering creatures.

She continued on and became a counselor before heading to Brevard College to earn a double B.A. in Wilderness Leadership & Experiential Education and Environmental Studies. KC loves to use the skills and knowledge she gained from her time at Brevard to share her passion for the natural world with others and inspire their connection to nature.

Her summers are still filled with camp, even after 18 years, but in her free time she can be found rock climbing, whitewater kayaking, or hiking in the forest.
