Annie Dillon was born and raised in Winston-Salem, NC. She spent her childhood summers looking for snakes, playing in the creek, and catching fish. She received a bachelor’s degree in environmental studies at Wofford College, where she studied the cognitive benefits of incorporating humor into environmental education. She also received a master of fine arts in screenwriting at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts. In her free time, Annie enjoys hiking, camping, fishing, bird watching, and foraging for mushrooms. Annie is super passionate about the Muddy Sneakers mission and loves teaching science in the outdoor classroom.
