Jenn Warren’s journey as an educator has intertwined with the transformative power of outdoor learning for over two decades. Jenn has a passion for teaching and a deep understanding of the profound impact of nature-based education on student development. She brings a wealth of experience and unwavering dedication to our board.
Jenn has been a pillar of the North Carolina school system for the past 20 years. During this time, she’s been guiding countless students on their educational journeys. Her tenure as a 5th-grade teacher, coupled with her close collaboration with Muddy Sneakers for over 7 years, has provided her with invaluable insights into the overwhelming benefits of teaching outdoors.
At Asheville City Schools, Jenn had the opportunity to participate in the full Muddy Sneakers experience – from full-day outdoor expeditions to hour-long virtual learning sessions. Then, upon relocating to Orange County, she recognized the urgent need to bring the enriching experiences of Muddy Sneakers with her. Utilizing Muddy Sneakers’ Remote Partnership option and her own expertise, she continued integrating outdoor lessons into her teaching practice.
Jenn has consistently championed the integration of outdoor education into the curriculum. As a board member, Jenn’s mission is clear: to be a vocal advocate for outdoor education experiences for all students. Her desire is to reconnect with instructors and students in the field. This passion speaks volumes about her commitment to understanding and championing the essence of outdoor education.
Jenn Warren has wealth of experience, unwavering dedication, and keen focus on the holistic development of every child. Because of this, she will be a driving force in advocating for outdoor education as an integral part of the educational ecosystem. She recognizes that this journey demands her time, focus, and educational background. However, she is prepared to work hard to ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive in nature’s classroom.
